Man who felt a ‘tear’ during sex gets ‘eggplant deformity’ of his penis

A MAN who felt a “tear” during sex ended up with what doctors called an “eggplant deformity” of his penis.

The unnamed 50-year-old suffered an extremely rare and painful penile fracture.

“The patient was having intercourse with his wife when he felt a ‘crack’ feeling,” described the article published in the International Journal of Surgery Case Reports.

He then lost his erection, experienced extreme discomfort, bled from his urethra and was unable to urinate.

The man went to his hospital in East Java, Indonesia, where he complained of swelling for more than four hours.

During physical examination, doctors found the “eggplant (aubergine) abnormality” – a clear sign that the penis is broken.

The penis deviated to the right giving it a curved shape, and images show a grotesque swelling.

There was also significant bleeding into the tissues of the penis, giving it a purplish-red bruised color all over, just like the fruit.

It made it difficult for medics to pinpoint exactly where the fracture was, as the bruises had migrated all the way to the scrotum.

Scans showed breaks in the erectile tissue on the right side of the man’s penis, the connective tissue deep within the penis, and the urethra.

The poor man was taken to the operating room almost immediately, which the doctors described in detail in their case.

The fractured erectile chamber was fixed with absorbable materials and sutures, and the two ends of the urethra were tied back together.

To prevent blood clotting in the scrotum, multiple incisions were made and a drainage tube was inserted.

Five days after surgery, the man was discharged with a catheter that had to be kept for 21 days while his urethra healed.

Doctors said: “The patient returned for outpatient visits on the seventh postoperative day. The surgical wound appeared to be in good condition.

“The patient was seen again on the 21st postoperative day and the urethral catheter was withdrawn.

“The result was considered satisfactory.”

Four months after the incident, the patient was described as “happy with the outcome”.

He can have sex with his wife again without experiencing any discomfort, as well as peeing.

Although his erect penis bent a little to the left, it didn’t hurt him. It is not abnormal for a penis to bend slightly, as long as it does not cause any problems.

Penis fracture, the experts said, usually occurs during vigorous sex.

The penis comes out of the vagina before being pushed too forcefully into the pubic bone or perineum between the vagina and anus.

A small number of men have broken their penises during masturbation or by falling out of bed with an erection.

The main three features are hearing a “popping sound”, swelling and bruising (hematoma).

A doctor previously warned that the sexual position most likely to cause a penis fracture is reverse cowgirl, because couples can’t be in sync.

dr. Karan Rangarjan, an NHS doctor and TikTok star, said patients who see men who do not seek treatment usually have erectile dysfunction, scarring and a permanent curve for the rest of their lives.
