The Herman Miller Embody is somewhat of a superstar when it comes to the wonderful world of office ergonomics. Famous for its simple and understated comfort and ergonomics. But hey, it’s not just Silicon Valley suits that can enjoy sitting comfortably, this more recent Embody from Herman Miller, in collaboration with Logitech G, has been adapted for our gaming tushes, and it’s currently 15% off the official Herman Miller store. .
With that cheeky discount you’re looking at a chair that costs $1,526 (opens in new tab)† Yes, I know, it’s kind of absurd, but be patient.
It’s worth noting that when this chair first came out, it didn’t carry the $1,795 MSRP that it has today. Old archived versions of the Herman Miller Store show that the chair’s price has increased recently, from $1,595 in December 2021 to a new full price of $1,795 in January and through 2022.
So think of this discount as a way to get around Herman Miller’s hefty new price tag and pay a little under what was the norm last year.
There are, of course, reasons why you would spend so much on a chair. And no, it’s not RGB lighting (opens in new tab)satisfying.
This is a chair with a 12 year warranty and you are buying a guarantee that you will sit comfortably the whole time. That warranty covers just about everything: 24-hour use, pneumatics, casters, armrests, and more.
It’s still a lot of money, but this is one chair I personally love. If you want the full breakdown of my feelings on this chair, here’s my Herman Miller Embody review (opens in new tab)† But let’s go over a few key points.
One of the things I love about the Embody is that it’s compact enough that it doesn’t take up the small space I have to work with for a home office. That’s a big win over most other gaming chairs in my opinion, because these types of thrones are usually huge.
It is also very comfortable, and I never feel any tension or pain when I sit in this chair for most of the day. The armrests are really adjustable and sit well under my arms for comfortable typing, but what’s most impressive is the backrest and the way the chair molds to my relaxed sitting position.
Though you really should get up and move (opens in new tab) regularly for a truly ergonomic work/study life.
The Embody ships for free from Herman Miller and will come fully constructed so you don’t have to mess around with bolts or tools. However, the box is quite large.
The Embody is definitely a premium chair with a premium price tag, so I understand the reluctance of those whose budget won’t stretch. A 15% discount on this chair makes it a little more palatable, though, and if you’ve been thinking about dropping that $1,795 suggested retail price on this chair, at least you can now bypass some pesky price hikes.
